Taken April 2003 from Tokyo Narita to Toronto (via Vancouver)

I arrived at Narita airport coming from Bangkok. I was not given (Tokyo-Vancouver-Toronto) boarding passes by Thai airways in Bangkok, so I had to wait in line for over an hour and half to get the required boarding passes.

The (Tokyo-Vancouver) flight left on time. The plane was an Airbus 340. The plane had no in-seat video screen, rather big screens. The flight attendants were excellent. The food was alright (dinner + snack + several rounds of drinks). The plane arrived 15 minutes early. After landing however, I had to wait for over an hour in the plane due to a SARS inspection of all passengers. As a result, I missed the Vancouver-Toronto flight and I had to wait at Vancouver airport to catch the next flight waiting in line again (10 minutes this time) to get a new boarding pass.

The 4 1/2 hour flight (on Airbus 330) to Toronto was uneventful, the food was of less quality than on the Tokyo-Vancouver leg. We landed on time.

The overall experience was good.
