Home > Air Atlanta Icelandic > ReviewTaken February 1999 from Gatwick to Las Palmas, Gran CanariaVery good service, all cabin crew friendly and helpful. Lots of legroom, comfy seats. Why would I not fly them again, pure & simple: Safety. This aircraft was an L1011 Tristar that had seen better days. As the engines were firing up they made an awful droning noise that didn't seem right, the overhead panels were hanging off and the plane prior to take off was making some awful creeking noises. The aircraft also smelled very badly of fuel. Maybe these things are normal traits of an L1011 & the aircraft may have been perfectly serviceable, but I was not convinced. I also believe that this airline did lose its certificate to fly at some stage, but got it back again. Overall, good crew, shame about the fleet and maintenance. | ||
