Taken July 2003 from Newcastle to Kos

Soon after taking off from Newcastle, our aircraft was hit by lightning, so we had to land at Manchester to see if there was any damage caused. Fortunately there wasn't any, so after two hours at Manchester we departed to Kos. I must add that the captain was a credit to the airline, as he kept us well informed and pacified most of the passengers.

The rest of the flight was uneventful. As with all charter flights, the seat pitch was poor and I wouldn't like to sit in those seats for a longer flight, as I would find it very uncomfortable.

The fact that the entertainment sytem on this aircraft didn't work, also lead to our unexpected delay to feel much longer, as there was nothing to do. However, I would rather the plane, an A321, withstood a lightning strike than had a working entertainment system.
