Home > Aer Lingus > 2003 > ReviewTaken August 2003 from London Heathrow to ShannonI haven't flown with Aer Lingus in Economy for a long time. I could not believe how it had gone so downhill. On an hour flight to Shannon and back, all you get is a choice of tea, coffee or orange. The coffee cups are so flimsy you think they are going to fall apart with the weight of the coffee. You don't even get a biscuit or a packet of peanuts. If it wasn't for the fact that Aer Lingus have a monopoly on this route from LHR, then I would not fly with them. There is only so much that the friendly Irish welcome can make up for the complete lack of service. It did leave the cabin crew plenty of time to gossip in the back galley! Both flights were slightly delayed as one passenger tried to bring a child of 4 into the cabin to sit on her lap. After 30 minutes, an engineer arrived to change one of the Premiere rows of seats into Economy so that they could accommodate the child. The cabin was not that clean and there was a lot of chewing gum marks on the carpet on this relatively new A320. What a shame... I used to love flying Aer Lingus, but it has really gone downhill in my opinion. | ||
