Taken August 2003 from Malaga to Manchester

AGP-MAN Aircraft: 757-200 Registration: G-MONJ.

ETD: 14:10

ATD: 14:20.

ETA: 16:00

ATA: 16:45.

We checked in at Malaga's spacious terminal at 12.00 for the flight. Within 20 minutes we had checked in for the flight. I looked at the departure boards and our flight was on time.

We went to the departure lounge where the aircraft could easily be seen. At about 50 minutes before departure I saw our aircraft G-MONJ make a excellent landing. It was time to go to the gate.

We soon boarded the aircraft, my seat was 36 by the wing. The captain for this flight introduced himself and told us some details about the flight. The cruising altitude would be 38.000 feet.

The aircraft pushed back and the engines were started. We then started to taxi to runway 14 slowly and the cabin crew conducted a manual safety demonstration.

We holded for about 2 minutes while a EZY 737-700 landed. We turned onto runway 14 and the PF set take-off power. After a fairly short take-off roll we were airborne.

We made a left turn and had a nice view of the sea. The flaps were selected up and we made a quick climb to 38.000 feet. The cabin crew handed out headphones to watch the programmes. £2.00 and you didn't even get to keep them.

Shortly after that, the cabin crew announced that they would serve drinks and this would be the only chance to buy them. Then the hot meal was served, roast chicken in a gravy sauce with potatoes and peas. The meal was great and just the right size.

The aircraft was in good condition from the inside. After the meal, the cabin crew came round with the in-flight shopping service. I bought a pack of playing cards. The captain then said a few words about the weather in Manchester.

The flight had been smooth throughtout. We started to descend towards Manchester. The captain switched on the seat belt sign and we started to approach runway 24R. Flaps were extended and some light turbulence started while we passed through the clouds.

A very smooth landing followed at MAN. We turned off at the bottom exit and taxied to our parking position.

The flight was excellent, cabin crew were very friendy. I have always had good flights on Monarch. I recommend them to anyone.
