Home > Iberia > 2002 > ReviewTaken March 2002 from Las Palmas to MadridAfter missing our flight home to Cardiff, our insurance company flew us to Heathrow via Madrid from Las Palmas. The Iberia staff were rude and unhelpful, and they all looked unhappy and just wanted to be somewhere else, other than helping their customers. We also needed a wheelchair and I was told to go and find one myself! Charming. I was pleasantly surprised that we were traveling on a Boeing 747, although it felt like we had entered a 1970s dream world after boarding. The plane was very old and when it took off there was an extraordinary smell of aviation fuel that rushed down the plane, which certainly gave a lot of confidence on those on board. I just hoped we would arrive in Madrid safely. Thank goodness we did, but it was a great experience to be in my first jumbo. On arrival in Madrid, the staff on board were so laid back we nearly missed the onward connection, they actually argued with me what flight we were traveling on until I showed them the boarding cards. | ||
