Taken September 2003 from Puerto Plata to Manchester

Flew back from Dominican Republic on MyTravel A330 G-MDBD 30/09/2003

.I had a seat in the Premiair Gold cabin, which is basically 49 leather seats with footrests at the front of the plane.

We pushed back very early from the gate and began our taxy out to the runway, during this the crew tried to show us a safety video, but one screen was not working so all the crew had to do this manually. The head crew member was rushing the crew to their seats as the captain was ready to take take off by the time they finished the briefing. Take off was quick and we all followed it on the fantastic fuselage mounted camera.

We got a very handy ammenity pack with some really good ideas in it. Also a pillow and an orange blanket. In Premiair Gold we got our drinks free, but had to pay for any snacks like, pringles etc. You could drink what you liked when you liked, just press the call button and they came to you.

Dinner was chicken which was edible, but forgetable. Wine was served with the meal at the same time! We had a triple helping of any tea or coffee if wanted.

Choice of X-MEN 2, Bruce Almighty and The In Laws, plus one channel of bog standard British Comedy. Thought that was a bit poor to say there where 12 channels available. Out of 10 music channels, only 6 had anything playing on them. Headphones were however free.

We had turbulance for around the first 4 hours with the seat belt sign on intermittently. The remaining half was better due to the fact the turbulance had stopped and the lights had been dimmed.

We began out descent at 06:00 and it was a very smooth ride until we were slammed onto the runway.

MyTravel were good overall, I don't undertand why people have to kick a horse when it's down, They do as good a job as any other charter carrier.

We landed at 06:30 and I was in the Man Airport train station by 07:25.
