Taken December 2002 from Chicago O'Hare to Hong Kong (Via Tokyo Narita)

I fly on United to Asian cities several times a year. I always find myself very comfortable in the United Business cabin.

The check in was fast and efficient.

The cabin staff were very friendly and helpful. I am not always able to sleep long during long flights, even in the Business class cabin. The flight attendants just made sure that I was OK and feeling good during the whole flight.

I was given a bottle of champagne because I told the flight attendants that I was going to Hong Kong to attend my grandmother's birthday banquet (which was true). There were not a lot of passengers in the Business Class cabin, so the flight attendants were generally just kept on chatting with me when I was not doing my own work on the computer.

The food was great, as I reserved the Japanese Obento meal ahead of time. So, I had traditional Japanese food as expected, nothing was surprising there.

The only bad thing about the flight was the "open curtain" policy. Some passengers from Economy Class went into the Business cabin to use the lavatory inside. I am not against anyone ticketed in Economy, but I found myself ending up waiting for a free lavatory twice. The flight attendants obviously observed that and the problem was solved right away. I understand that the curtain was left open because of security reasons, but I think they should do a better job in preventing other passengers to enter a different class. For example, I will not enter First or Economy to disturb passengers in those classes.

Overall, the flight was very enjoyable and I will definitely fly United again in the future for trans-pacific flights.
