We were changed to Air Miles at the last minute by our tour operator, and never having heard of them, did not know what to expect. The flight left on time and at 2330 hours was the last Friday flight out of Birmingham.

The piloting was extremely good, with a rapid 3 hours and 40 minutes in the air, and one of the smoothest landings I have ever experienced.

The aircraft was an old 737-400 with poor washrooms and standard charter firm leg space. Shortly after take off we were asked to choose between complimentary drinks and a meal, insufficient meals having been loaded.

The crew were efficient and happy looking.

A friend in the business tells me Air Miles have a fleet of one, and the cabin announcements showed the crew to be somewhat unfamiliar with the company name. This leads to the impression that Air Miles is something of a spot-hire stand-in operation, but I would happily fly with them again.
