Taken November 2003 from London Stansted - STN to Gran Canaria - LPA

Outbound: (Nov 24th, aircraft G-OOAE, Airbus A321) This aircraft is still in the old external colours and has old-style interior (cloth seats), and legroom was about par for the course for a charter airline.

The in-flight service was excellent - really friendly and extremely courteous crew, always attentive to passengers' needs and prompt to reply to the call buzzer.

Takeoff and landing were a bit bumpy though, but weather conditions were bad at both airports (fog at Stansted, gales at Las Palmas). I still think the pilot may have came down too fast though - the plane seemed as if it had bounced about 10 times before finally getting down!

Return: (December 1st, aircraft G-OOAH, Airbus A321) This plane has been refurbished and is in the new colours with very comfortable green leather seats and better tables which didn't wobble as much.

In-flight service was again excellent (this was the first time for ages that I've enjoyed an in-flight meal on both the outbound AND the return leg!), another friendly and efficient cabin crew who worked tirelessly to cater for their passengers. Very informative pilot, with regular updates from the flight deck.

The new recliners are brilliant, but also a bit urgent... the old dear in front of me nearly knocked me out when her seat came shooting back just as I was leaning forward!!

The rearmost television on the right has a mind of its own as well... kept popping up and down at random times during the flight!

Much better takeoff and landing this time - far smoother than the outbound flight.

All in all, I was quite impressed with Air 2000 - normally I'm not a fan of the First Choice group, but this time they got it right. I'm not too sure about the pink uniforms though... they look good on the girls, but the mens' version is a bit too - pink - for my liking!
