Skyservice was the most uncomfortable and cramped chartered aircraft we have ever flown on.

We sustained damaged luggage for the first time flying ever.

Our return flight from Punta Cana was delayed nearly 2 hours. The frustrating part was getting someone who could tell us what was going on. It was so disorganized with poor service. At one point, the departure board said our flight had departed causing panic.

Our major complaint is the baggage allowance. We were charged $140 for excess baggage going to Punta Cana. The 20 kg per person limit includes the weight of your two pieces of luggage and its contents. That is not much for a two week holiday.

When we inquired, we were told we had to pay for the extra fuel charges it would cost to carry our baggage. We have never heard of such a thing before. There were many others who were subjected to this and Skyservice must have made a lot of money that day.

Domestic flights within Canada allow 32 kg X 2 pieces which is normal weight allowance we have always experienced.

We packed as normal going south and bought candy, school supplies and personal products for the children and people of the Dominican Republic for Christmas. We did not over-pack by normal standards even with these gifts.

It ended up being a very expensive gesture to the Dominican people and Skyservice was the Grinch who stole Christmas and benefited from this.

Had we known, we would have given the children and people money instead. A valuable lesson for anyone who is considering doing the same in the future.

We have never had to pay excess baggage charges before and have flown for years around the world.

What next, charging people by their weight? This is unacceptable and we would never again fly Skyservice.
