Taken August 2003 from London, Gatwick - LGW to Toronto - Lester B. Pearson - YYZ
I flew from London Gatwick to Toronto in August 2003 with MyTravel. Understanding that the fare was cheap, my expectation level was not high, however MyTravel manged to disapoint me. I checked in at Gatwick with no problem and was allocated my seats. When I got onto the aircraft I was amazed at the lack of legroom given in economy class, this made the journey very unpleasant. The in flight entertainment was very crackly so the movies were unwatchable. I mentioned the problem to the aircrew who informed me very coldly that there was nothing they could do. Upon arrival in Toronto my bags were missing. I reported this to the handling agent at the airport who said that he would find out what had happened to my bags and telephone me at my holiday address. I waited 24 hours and heard nothing, I tried to phone, but got no answer. In the end I had to go back to the airport and find the guy again, he told me that my bags couldn't be found, but would turn up at some time. I phoned MyTravel in Manchester and was told that there was nothing that could be done and that I would be contacted when they found my bag. Well this went on for the whole two weeks of my holiday with still no bags. My bags eventually turned up at my home in London 10 days after I arrived back. I didn't get any assistance or compensation from MyTravel, my insurers handled everything after I was told by MyTravel that it wasn't there problem. I can say that I will never ever travel with that company again. Their customer care is non existent. |
