Taken May 2003 from Aktyubinsk - ADX to Budapest, Ferihegy - BUD

Smell of petrol throughout the flight of the Tupolev 134 was compounded by a screeching PA system hit two of my senses, and the third, my sight was somewhat assaulted by the deep dive the plane took on arrival at Budapest, done at a slant while the co-pilot was opening the undercarriage to unlock the wheels. I know it was the co-pilot cause the pilot who had gone to the back of the plane for a long catnip woke with a start.

Not really one of the most relaxing experiences I have had, but I recommend TU 134's over the more cumbersome older looking TU 154's, hopefully they don't all come with the strong diesel (?) smell.

Food was fine, served on a wooden tray covered with cling film. Service without a smile, but not unpleasant.

Definitely a feel of the wild east in the air. Fine on the ground, but am not sure that the cultural experience needs to be so well defined at 30,000 ft.
