First of all I had no clue what to expect with air travel because these flights were my first that I could remember. We departed our hotel mid-day taking a taxi instead of the shuttle provided by Signature Vacations. Our hotel was about 15 to 30 minutes away from the airport so the fare was quite expensive. Check-in at Playa Del Oro Airport was chaotic. Canada 3000 had 1 check-in desk opened for our flight and the signage over the desk said the desk was for "Edmonton" passengers. Our flight was Manzanillo-Calgary-Edmonton-Vancouver. 15 minutes later a Canada 3000 agent comes over and opens another desk. Before the desk was opened a whole 757 load of passengers was standing in line for one check-in desk. The flight didn't depart for a while afterwards so my family and I wandered around the airport. When it was finally time to go, the security (which is very visible) area was swamped. It was quick and easy, but the machines looked pretty old. We had to walk out onto the tarmac and up air stairs. Upon boarding the staff were very friendly. My seat was in Row 2 on the left side which ended up the first row on that side. Very little legroom! The safety demo was shown on very small screens in front of us. The food was not very good as airline food goes. The flight was extremely long and the flight didn't have any good entertainment. Landing was bumpy in Calgary, but I contribute that to fog and snow. Baggage claim was quick and easy! All in all it was a so-so flight. I forgot that the flight attendant and pilots did let me see the cockpit so that was cool!
