Home > Air France > 2003 > ReviewTaken December 2003 from Paris, Orly - ORY to Saint Denis de la Reunion - RUNFlew on board one of Air France's Boeing 747-200 aircraft. Very comfortable as set next to an emergency exit, but also very cold during the night. Food was not a high point. Lukewarm boiled chicken and the cabin staff took ages to give it out. Amazingly on this long 12 hour flight, there was no choice of food. A half bottle of wine was provided plus salad and apple tart and the usual Camembert cheese portion. Cabin crew were fairly abrupt. Not enough room to place hand baggage if seated near an emergency exit. Chief purser said "this aircraft is very old with little space so there is no room to put your bags"! All of our hand luggage had to be put in a little wardrobe near the first class section. Was amazed mid flight to see passengers with dogs in the cabin. Maybe this is because Reunion is a French territory? No idea what the dog does if it needs to go to the toilet during the flight! Breakfast service prior to landing was very poor. Bread rolls, butter and a coffee and juice. Not very exciting. On landing, the captain announced it was the Pursers last flight out from Paris and everyone clapped! No individual seat back entertainment monitors. Just the old fashioned screens in the cabin bulkheads and almost all the films were in French. Overall, Air France is OK, but basic. It's a cheaper option to the Indian Ocean, but in flight service is limited. | ||
