Pearson - YYZ to Vancouver - YVRThis was the return leg of my flight, having flown Jetsgo from Vancouver to Toronto with no incident and on time. Prior to this flight, I was beginning to think that all the bad reviews I'd heard were just sour grapes. However, after an on-time full loading of the aircraft, we sat at the gate for about 20 minutes for no apparent reason before starting out. Once airborne, the pilot told us that due to a strong headwind, our plane couldn't make it all the way to Vancouver without stopping for fuel. So, we would be stopping in Calgary which would add significant time to our flight. He apologized and said that he had only been informed of this fact just before loading in Toronto. What really upset me about this was that Jetsgo didn't bother to tell any of its passengers about this until the plane was airborne. We were ultimately over 2 hours late arriving in Vancouver (12:15am instead of 10pm) and based on the late hour, it would have been nice to let our family know that we would be very late. Travelers on the Toronto/Van route should be aware of the equipment limitations on the westbound leg and be prepared for a long wait if refueling is required, especially in the winter when it also means a de-icing in Calgary before resuming your flight. | ||
