I flew with my wife and 17 year old son to Palma for a 6-day break (plus some spotting)

I booked flights through Lastminute. com and they offered Air Berlin with 5 nights accommodation at a very good price (Flight portion was GBP68 per person return)

Flight from Stansted left dead on time and arrival in Palma was a few minutes early.

We expected in-flight service to be either non-existent or at extra cost and were very pleasantly surprised to be offered filled roll (choice of 2 fillings), hot or cold drinks (no alcohol), refill of drinks and small bar of chocolate - ALL FREE!

Children travelling were given an in-flight bag of things to do and something else on arrival.

There was plenty of leg-room (old Boeing 737-400) and cabin service was excellent. Several in-flight announcements from flight deck re height, time, weather on arrival etc.

We were very impressed. Return flight very similar (same aircraft) just 15 minutes late (not the Airline's fault).

We would certainly use Air Berlin again and would recommend them to others. The Palma flight from Stansted is a new venture for them and although it had only been in operation for a few weeks it was about three-quarters full.
