Taken February 2004 from London, Gatwick - LGW to Belfast - Harbour - BHD

I have flown with most of the U. K low cost airlines (easyJet, buzz, go, and Ryanair) and FlyBe was another one to add to my list.

BE962 London Gatwick to Belfast City

08:50 - 10:10.

Got to the check in area around 06:30 and found that 4 or 5 check in desks were open for the FlyBe flights to Belfast, Jersey and Guernsey. Walked straight up to check in and gave i. d and confirmation etc. Was given boarding passes for outbound and inbound flights so this was good news as there would be no need to arrive early and check in at Belfast City.

After wandering round Gatwick, boarding commenced from Gate 107 which is quite a walk from the departure lounge at Gatwick. Boarded via the airbridge on board Bae 146-300 G - JEBE.

Cabin crew were very polite and friendly and the aircraft had Grey leather seats throughout.

Smooth on time take off and generally a very smooth flight overall. 1 drinks service was available, but few people bothered to buy anything. I bought a bottle of water for £1.

Smooth on time landing and was at the airport exit 10 minutes after landing. Superb flight.

BE973 Belfast City to London Gatwick

17:40 - 19:00.

Due to being checked in already, it gave me more time to explore the brilliant city of Belfast. Arrived at the airport at 16:30 for the 17:40 flight. The aircraft landed on time, but then there was a 30 minute delay. At 17:20 there was an announcement to inform us of the delay. They said there would be another announcement at 18:00. At 18:00 FlyBe stood by their word and said the flight was ready for boarding.

Boarding was very quick as everybody just wanted to go home.

Smooth take off again and a quick flight of one hour with again another cabin service. I bought a large Pepsi (330ml) and a KitKat Chunky for £2.20

Landed at Gatwick at 19:25.

Overall FlyBe is definitely the best low cost airline for value and service. The flight was only £41 return and is a lot better than the likes of Ryanair and go.
