Taken March 2004 from Amsterdam, Schiphol - AMS to Copenhagen - CPH

Buying the ticket:

After buying a ticket on the SAS website in December for a regular price, SAS came with a special offer (100 Euros cheaper). To my surprise I could just cancel the first reservation and recooked for the new price!

AMS-CPH:

Checking in at Schiphol went smoothly. It's still a bit of a pain that th SAS gates are at the very end of the B-concourse, so we had quite a walk. The plane (a MD8x) was quite old, but neat and tidy. Our seats where on the left side (A&C). That's a thing I like about the MD-series. If you fly with two people you have your own 'private' row. Unfortunately the seats where very tight, even with the front seat fully up. Strange, because I'm not used to that with SAS. Especially when the person in front of my wanted to recline his seats thing got ugly... (for my knees). The service on the flight was OK. A nice sandwich and plenty of drinks. On arrival at CPH we parked at a non-Schengen gate, so we left the plane from the back and a bus took us to the terminal.

CPH-AMS

Copenhagen is a great shopping airport, so we did not mind waiting for an hour after checking in early. (Which went very quick, even with SAS being the main user of the facilities at CPH). This time we got a free dutch newspaper when boarding the plane. The same type of plane, but the leg space was a lot bigger. Same type of sandwich, lots of drinks. ("Are you sure you don't want an extra drink?") Arrival at Schiphol at the 5th runway -> 15 minutes ride to the terminal. Parking at the end of the B concourse -> 15 minutes walk to the customs. Globeground handles luggage -> 30 minutes wait + wrong isle.
