Home > Northwest > 2003 > ReviewTaken February 2003 from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - MSP to London, Gatwick - LGWNorthwest should be called "Northworst". I fly it several times per year sometimes domestic, sometimes international. Just about everytime I have flown NW there has been some sort of problem. MSP to LGW: co-pilot failed to show, so we were 2 hours late getting off the ground until they could find a substitute. On the return flight from AMS to MSP: the plane had "mechanical problems" so could not take off, so Northwest stuck us in a Dutch motel overnight. My suspicion is that it was cheaper to put us in a hotel overnight and fill the plane to the bursting point the following day than it was to fly a half empty plane. Also, they were no help at all in getting you from the airport in Amsterdam to the hotel, you had to figure it out for yourself. NW is pretty uncomfortable in coach (which airline isn't?). If you are a fairly normal sized individual, no coach seat will be comfortable. NW+: decent staff unlike Delta. Have never had surly F/A on NW. Will I continue to fly NW? Not much of a choice since they have most of the flights out of MSP. Best Airlines I have flown: LAN Chile, British Airways, TAP Air Portugal. Worst Airlines: Delta (they send their F/A's to special "rudeness academies" I think. Flying sucks as it is, no need to make it worse by having an "attitude"). United: Horrible, crowded discomfort with seating constructed for midgets. And NW, which is a sad excuse for an airline. | ||
