Taken April 2004 from London, Heathrow - LHR to Dubai International Airport

Qatar Airways ground staff at Heathrow Airport were very hospitable and made a good attempt at liaising with both their Arab and non-Arab passengers in native-tongue.

Once on board the Qatar Airways night flight to Doha, I was very impressed with both the cleanliness of the aircraft and the size and comfortability. Their A330-200s to Doha are of a 2-4-2 configuration with personal seat-back mini TV screens featuring international films and audio entertainment. The music selection was varied and ranged from Phil Collins to French Caribbean music. Only negative comment I have is that the TV screen and audio controls are awkwardly positioned on the inner side of your arm rest. You cannot avoid elbowing the person next to you, in order to make a selection from the film or music menu.

Throughout the flight the captain kept passengers up to date as to our navigational situation, and air-turbulence was handled very professionally by cabin crew.

The quality of food was above average and quite varied, with vegetarian meals as a standard alternative. Ample sandwiches and croissants were distributed at varied times during the flight. The 45 minute connecting flight from Doha to Dubai International Airport was very pleasant, and passengers were not left hungry during this flight either.

An airline I would definitely fly with again.
