Taken April 2004 from Glasgow - GLA to Banjul - BJL
Outward flight from glasgow to banjul via bristol on 23rd april 2004..there were only 10 pax from glasgow to bristol and 4 cabin crew, so service was fantastic, in particular from the head stewardess lorainne, who was scottish. When we boarded, we were about 15 minutes late in departure due to the tug snapping at glasgow airport and having to wait for engineers to fix the problem. Once airbourne we were only in the air for 50 minutes and then landed at bristol. A crew change was required here, and re-fuelling. Once all the pax were onboard, there were still only 51 passengers for the flight, therefore giving passengers a row of 3 seats to themselves. The crew who boarded the 737-700 at Bristol were from Gatwick and another scottish stewardess in charge called Gillian. She was fantastic and an asset to the company, constantly smiling, offering pax extra food as there were far too many meals, and walking up and down the cabin speaking to passengers which is pretty rare these days, albeit the flight was a third full. The food was fantastic, and in total this flight took 8 hours. Astraeus are a good airline, they have good crew and believe they will do well in the future, however their 737-700's which have no entertainment or audio facilities aren't really cut out for such long flights. Well done Astraeus. |
