Taken May 2004 from Paris, Orly - ORY to Nizza - NCE

I have now travelled on both easyJet and Air France on this route and can tell you that for comfort EasyJet beats AF hands down. On AF my knees are squashed against the seat in front and I just pray that that the passenger in front doesn't try to recline. On EasyJet I had a gap of about 3 cm between the seat and my knees. For me this makes the difference between a flying torture chamber (Air France) and a seat (EasyJet). On a one hour flight I don't really care about a "free" cup of coffee - I can buy that for 2€50 if I really want to - a small price to pay for not having to imagine what it was like to be Houdini. Of course the gallic incomprehension of fair play which the French authorities brainwash the French Public with claiming Air France to be a "Service Public" means that EasyJet are blocked from offering the service they would like to. If the bureaucrats who run France - or often try to stop it from functioning - wish to understand something about public service they could well learn a few things from EasyJet. I will only travel on Air France within France if there is no other practical choice in future and hope that easyJet will win their lawsuit against COHOR to offer the French consumer a public service that lives up to its name.
