Taken January 2004 from Bombay - BOM to London, Heathrow - LHR

For my christmas holidays I went to visit my family in Goa, India. The trip from London Heathrow to GOI was made by Virgin Atlantic lhr-del-bom-goi and I was extremely happy with my very first experience with Virgin Atlantic. The return trip was another experience, though.

We had to fly from Mumbai to Delhi and from Delhi over Mumbai and then turn back heading London. The problems started early. At first the flight was delayed 6 hours from Mumbai and we were not told why until we got on the plane (it was because of fog in Delhi, an understandable reason.), some passangers even started a riot inside the terminal threatening the airport manager beacause of the lack of information! When we finally got underway we were delayed yet again an hour in Delhi before we were able to lift off again. I was seated in the middle section right infront of the toilet, hence, there was no recline. The IFE was very poor, and with defect earphones even worse. Suddenly I thought of my connecting flight to Oslo, and with all the delay I would miss it by 15 minutes, I asked the cabin crew if they could please tell the captain on the SAS machine to wait, and the flight crew told us they would get the message. When we finally touched down, deplaned and ran to the SAS counter we were told that no one had called them or given them a message so we were stranded in London until the next day. The only positive thing Air India did that night was giving me a free stay at a nearby hotel.

I`ll say it as the local mob in Mumbai Chattrapatti International: Air India HAI HAI!!! Never such an airline again.. Sorry.
