Taken June 2004 from New York - John F. Kennedy, NY - JFK to Amsterdam, Schiphol - AMS

I originally started out in Detroit with a Northwest flight to JFK which was delayed for 2 hours. As the plane landed at JFK, I saw the KLM 777 taking off.

Fortunately, there was another flight later that evening that a very friendly KLM employee at JFK rebooked us on. It was on row 9 of a 747-400 (exit row) (first row of economy).

Surprisingly, the flight was only 6 hours and 12 minutes. The seat was very comfortable, and had plenty of legroom considering it was an emergency exit row, however, the other seats had very small legroom. The food was not great : it was chicken or pasta. The entertainment was not great, there were hallway TV's, and the movie was 50 first dates.

There were barely any turbulence, and it was a great flight, I would recommend this airline to anyone who is not too tall (could go to business or exit row). I would definitely use this airline again. It is better than its American partner, Northwest.
