Taken July 2004 from Belfast International - BFS to Glasgow - GLA

Recently flew to see my elderly mother in Glasgow from Belfast International using easyJet for the first time. I was a bit apprehensive as I had seen the T. V programmes, but I was pleasantly surprised!

I arrived at Belfast International at 0630 for my 0800 flight to Glasgow and went straight to checkin where there was no queue! Was greeted by one of the most friendiest guys I have come across at any checkin worldwide. His name I think was Gary and was cheerful and chatty helping me put my cases on to the belt. Nothing was too much trouble for him and when I asked if he knew how to get to the city centre from Glasgow Airport, he told me all about the bus services that operate and which one would get me there quickest.

One thing that really stood out was that although security is at his tightest after Sept 11th, he asked me the relevant questions including 'anything sharp' to which I replied 'no' and then turned round and jokingly said ' so you left the chainsaws at home today' which I found quite amusing especially at 0630 in the morning!

This young lad looked no more than about 20 but it was obvious why he works in customer service as he was so approachable and friendly. A real asset to easyJet.

Boarding started on time and the gate staff were strict, but polite regarding the priority boarding system. Boarded the aircraft and was greeted by a friendly, Scottish stewardess who checked my boarding pass and told me to choose a seat anywhere on the plane. Another young girl then helped me with my baggage into the overhead bins.

Crew, again were extremly friendly and approachable. We departed on time and although no service was offered as this was a quick 25 min flight, the crew were all visable throughout the flight and I was impressed to see them making the effort with babies and children, helping mothers with bags etc and generally being a real help.

Landed 20 minutes early in Glasgow and baggage was on the belt when we got to the arrivals hall.

Return flight was exactly the same.

Overall, I was really impressed by easyJet. I found the majority of staff were very young, many not over 25 but all that I encountered were friendly and efficient especially the young guy at checkin in Belfast. Considering it was 0630 in the morning, he was great! Will definately be flying this company again!
