Home > Flybe > 2004 > ReviewTaken August 2004 from Southampton - Eastleigh - SOU to Dublin - DUBSouthampton Airport is such a joy to fly from. It is the exact opposite of Heathrow and Gatwick - small, convenient to southern England, friendly staff, very few queues, etc. Even the car-park and the train station are just outside the door. When we arrived to check-in there was a large queue for FlyBE, but within minutes additional desks were opened and staff appeared on the floor to manage the queues. So even though there were a lot of people in the queue it moved quickly. My young son gets upset on planes sometimes so we had phoned FlyBE and requested special seating arrangements so that if he kicked out he would hit one of us in the seat in front not another passenger. We all ended up in Row 1 which was great as it has so much leg room. The flight itself departed about 15 minutes late - we had to be bussed out to the plane as it was raining heavily. The cabin crew were very friendly and when my son did get upset both the team leader and her assistant came up and enquired if there was anything they could do - which was a change from being ignored on previous flights. All in all I would fly with FlyBE again - the only complaint I would have is that their Bae146 aircraft are very very noisy for jets - especially when the extend the flaps for landing. | ||
