Taken August 2004 from Manchester - MAN to Dalaman - DLM
Arrived at Manchester Airport at 17:45 hours to pick up tickets on departure as flight was due to leave at 19:45 hours. We were then told that there was a delay on the flight and we would be given more information at 21:00 hrs. Nothing appeared on the information board until 21:50 hours when we were told to report to Gate 22. At this stage we assumed that we would be flying shortly. However all passengers were kept at Gate 22 until approximately 22:30 hours when an irate passenger banged on the glass doors and demanded to know what was going on. At this point we were then informed by 4 armed policeman that we were not flying that night but would be taken to a hotel in Manchester and fly out to Dalaman around 13:00 hours the next day. At no stage of the proceedings was a rep from the Airline present. After collecting luggage etc and being taken to a hotel in the city centre we were then picked up the following day at 11:30 hours (after being told it would be 11:00 hours)On arrival back at Manchester, again there was no rep fron Air Scandic to sort any problems out. We started boarding at approx 13:20 hours and to compound matters again we were told by airline staff over the intercom system to please hurry to our seats as they did not want to lose their slot. Talk about rubbing salt into the wound. Airline staff would not listen to complaints from anybody and refused to give out contact addresses out for their company, instead telling people they had to complain through their Tour Operators.As a result of this We arrived in resort 18 hours late and still none the wiser as to what caused the delay. All in all the worst experience I have ever had in 25 years of travel. Air Scandic would appear to give little or no regard to Customer Care or Customer satisfaction and I will never give them my custom again |
