Home > KLM Cityhopper > ReviewTaken August 2004 from Manchester - MAN to Amsterdam, Schiphol - AMSThe flight was KL1074 from Manchester to Amsterdam operated by KLM Cityhopper with their Fokker 70 PH-KZF on Tuesday 17th August 2004. This ticket was based on a Flying Dutchman Award flight so was free (except from taxes). We arrived at Manchester Terminal 2, 3 hours prior to departure and where given seats 3D and 3E at check-in. Boarding commenced slightly behind schedule, but was fast and efficient. Onboard we where greeted by the two very content cabin crew members and where offered a wide choice of newspapers. We pushed back and taxied to Runway 24R for departure which was smooth and powerful and began a climb out to 27,000 ft. Shortly after departure we where offered a choice of sandwiches and a beverage. The sandwich was perfectly adequate for early morning, but they where a bit skinny on the coffee! The pilots kept us well informed about our flight information aswell. The seats where fantastic! Very roomy, lots of pitch and recline (not that we needed it) and extremely cushioned. About 40 minutes into the flight the engines wound back and we descended into Schiphol. Soon enough we where on approach and with a bump we toucheddown on Runway 18C. We made a short taxi to the apron and disembarked on a remote stand. Overall KLM Cityhopper where excellent and I would highly recommend them. N.B. - This was a free ticket, but if had paid for it I wouldn't particularly say it was value for money as the average fare for this route is very high! | ||
