Taken July 2004 from London, England (Gatwick Airport) - LGW to Montpellier (Mediteranee/Frejorgues) - MPL

I travel with mainline BA fairly often though this was my first time with GB - a franchise partner based out of Gatwick.

We checked-in the day before taking advantage of BA's 'Early Check-in' facility at Gatwick allowing us to select seats, collect boarding cards and drop-off hold luggage. This is a very useful system should you be in the right place at the right time.

Even though we were on the oldest plane in their fleet (an A320-200) it was still very clean inside. I had managed to get seat 04A - just behind the Club Europe (business class) cabin. This is a very good row to go for as the seat pitch and width are the same as in Club due to a health and safety reason. As is standard on BA the seats were leather and very comfortable.

Push-back was around 5 minutes late, but take-off was not delayed at all - nothing else about.

I bought a small die-cast Concorde model from the duty-free trolley however the Cabin Crew had problems printing me a receipt. After 10 minutes of trying they gave up (upon my request!) but returned later on having had 'harsh words with the machine'. Just why I pay the extra money for a full service carrier.

The in-flight meal was nothing to write home about - a cake, yogurt and some fruit salad. However this is the only thing GB lost marks on and otherwise I highly recommend them, especially as you can get very competitive fares against the low cost carriers.
