Home > Japan Airlines > ReviewTaken June 2004 from Sydney, New South Wales (Kingsford Smith) - SYD to Tokyo (Narita) - NRTIn the past I regularly used the services of JAL to travel between Australia and European destinations. My most recent flight with JAL was disappointing to say the least due to a perceptible decline in service standards and a very expensive seat! Check-in was efficient at Sydney and punctuality was good. However, several cabin crew members were French and not Japanese and they did not seem to work with the same conviction and dedication one has come to expect from JAL. The Japanese cabin crew were superb, but it has to be said that the French cabin crew were abrupt and arrogant and do nothing other than undermine the impression passengers gained on this flight. Both Western and Japanese food was offered to passengers and was of a reasonable standard. The Boeing 777 used on this flight was not as comfortable as the 747 and I was left feeling very stiff at the end of the flight. Compared with alternative carriers on this route JAL are now not what they once were and need to revert to a more Japanese level of service. I am unsure if I will use JAL again on this route. | ||
