Taken September 2004 from New York, NY (John F. Kennedy International Airport) - JFK to Madrid (Barajas) - MAD

A week ago I flew from New York (JFK) to Madrid (Barajas) with Iberia (return flight).

Unfortunately that was not my best flying experience. The flight was delayed for two hours and I missed my connecting flight from Madrid to Munich. Upon check-in I was told about it and booked to another connecting flight that departed from Madrid six hours later than my initial flight. As some kind of compensation I was given a 12 $ to buy food and drinks at JFK.

The aircraft (B 747-300) looked used and had seen better days. Every here and there you saw parts of the compartment fixed with tape.

The staff was not too friendly. I don't remember seeing any of them smile at any time. They also seem to lack english skills: when I had just started my first attempt to sleep they served dinner. Rather than asking me to put my seat in an upright position I got a nudge by the flight attendant, followed by a hand gesture and a stern 'please'. The meal itself was nothing above the ordinary, three pieces of chicken with tomato sauce and some tiny potatoes.

I can't recommend this airline. Next time I'll definitely spend some more €€€ and fly LH.
