Home > Air Atlanta Europe > ReviewTaken October 2004 from London, England (Gatwick Airport) - LGW to Sharm El Sheikh (Ras Nasrani) - SSHTraveling on old model 747-200 (with the spiral staircase and an Engineer in the cockpit) - thankfully we'd chosen the upgraded seat option which means the same food, but free drinks in a businessclass-type seat upstairs (16 passengers max.) as the plane was packed to capacity. Departure from Gatwick delayed by one hour, but the flight was uneventful, and the service great, with an attendant for the 16 of us! Return from Sharm delayed by 5 hours, as the original plane went "technical" not once, but twice, and a replacement had to be flown in from Hannover to Gatwick to pick up the outgoing crew and passengers. Thank Allah we heard of this early and stayed at our resort a few hours longer. As this plane had a slightly different cabin outlay (only 12 seats upstairs, for instance) of which the check-in staff were unaware, there were a few irritated people on board, but apart from that the return leg was eneventfull. Verdict: you get what you pay for, except for four people who lost their seat upstairs (unlucky), and the four folks who bribed their check-in person to be upgraded- only to be found out by the crew... | ||
