Taken October 2004 from Athens (Athinai) (Hellinikon International Airport) - ATH to Madrid (Barajas) - MAD

This was the first time I flew with IBERIA and although it might just be me being unlucky I think it was quite an unpleasant experience.

We departed from Athens airport with 45 minutes delay and we were only informed about the delay 25 minutes before the scheduled departure. Although it may not seem relevant here it was the only flight in delay.

The service on flight was rather below average, but then again I didn't expect much. The most annoying thing was that the flight attendants' behavior was very close to being considered as rude.

The return flight was much worse. First of all it was not trivial to locate the check in counter and I found out (after asking at the info kiosk) that you could check in any IBERIA counter which is not bad, but it would be better if there was a sign or something with this piece of information. This time the delay was 2 and half hours and we were only informed about it from the airport's monitors. Furthermore although many passengers including myself asked at the gate desk there was never an exact estimation of our new departure time. The only real source of information was again the airport's monitors extending our departure time in steps of 30 minutes every 30 minutes. Since I was checking the airport monitors quite regularly I couldn't fail notice that 2 out of 3 IBERIA flights were also on delay which indicates that I certainly was not the only unlucky passenger around.

There are a couple more things that pile up, but I think these are enough to describe my experience.
