Home > ACES > ReviewTaken December 2000 from Miami to CaliBecause of bad original planning, the flight out of Cali was changed to an earlier time. But since I called while in Cali I made the flight. For return flight I had to pay not just international flight tax, but national flight tax because of the connection in Bogota. In Bogota I had to fight with other passengers at the extremely small luggage carousel to retrieve my luggage. Because I had no more Colombian pesos I had to carry two heavy suitcases and two more travel bags to the ACES desk at the other side of the airport for my flight to Miami. But the ACES desk did not want my luggage or anyone else's until two hours later. Everyone had to stand in line. The party that was to pick me up in Miami called ACES to confirm my arrival time and the person said there was only one flight coming in and it arrived at 12:00 PM. My party was at MIA at that time and of course I was still in Colombia. The ACES staff at MIA then told them that there would be no more flights from Colombia. So they left thinking something dreadful happened to me in Colombia. And of course when I arrived at 10:00 PM there was no one there to pick me up, but after calling, my party went to MIA for the second time. Bottom line: ACES may have a good fare, but it is not worth the hassle. Avianca and American service Cali without making passengers change planes in third cities. And when Avianca makes passengers change planes in third cities, one does not have to check in again, pay two taxes, wait in any line, or look for luggage. | ||
