Taken November 2004 from Sydney, New South Wales (Kingsford Smith) - SYD to Hong Kong, Chek Lap Kok - HKG2

Flying on Royal Executive Class is always a terrific experience. The first leg of my journey was on TG 992 from Sydney, NSW to Bangkok Int'l airport, while the second leg was on TG 630 from Bangkok to Hong Kong. Both planes were unfortunately ~ 1 hour late; however, I had no qualms waiting in the Star Alliance/Royal Orchid lounge! Aside from the tardy departures, I would rate the flights with an average of 8.5/10. The crew was very welcoming on board, the service was on par with most other airline's business classes, and the food & wine were superb. The best part was the fact that the total journey cost ~ $18000 HK (compared to $28000-30000 if flying on Cathay or Qantas), as I am a university student on limited means. I must admit that the seats on Thai are a tad bit behind the competitor's - they are basically a massive economy class seat without the electronic gadgets - EXCEPT on the B777 where they are similar to the former Cathay business class seats; but for the price you pay and the quality of business class service you get, I would without a doubt recommend Royal Executive Class to my colleagues.
