Taken December 2004 from Toronto, ON (Lester B. Pearson International Airport) - YYZ to Winnipeg, MB (Winnipeg International Airport) - YWG

This flight was a nightmare. The flight was slightly delayed leaving. I didn't see this as a big deal.

While waiting on board they said something about a problem with a fueling system on the plane and that we would be taking off after it was resolved and the fuel tanks were filled. Shortly thereafter the flight left for Winnipeg on a non-stop flight.

While on route there was a lot of turbulence (the roughest flight I have ever been on). After about an hour in the air we started to descend not enough time had passed for us to be in Winnipeg, but no information was given before we started to land. Just before landing they said on the overhead speaker that we been experiencing quite a headwind and that we required more fuel to get to the alternate landing sites. As we sat on the runway at Thunder bay they said we would be getting fuel and continuing on to Winnipeg. Ok not great for a non-stop flight, but Ok. After fueling report came in that we were not going on to Winnipeg because of weather, looked like we just going to wait it out until the wind died down in Winnipeg. This was not to be the case. After three hours delay at Thunder bay the decision was made to fly back to Toronto.

The flight back to Toronto wasn't too bad except it was were we just came from. They offered no information on the flight as to whether or not there would be hotels arranged in Toronto. They said we would get details after we got off. Most people were under the impression that jetsgo would arrange hotels and pay for them. The flight wasn't cancelled really we had been trapped on the flight to nowhere for 7 hours. It was just before 11:00pm when we got into Toronto to discover no arranged hotels unless you had transferred from another jetsgo flight earlier in the day from Montreal. To add insult to injury the shuttles to the airport hotels stop running at 11:00 so if you didn't pick your hotel quick and get on the shuttle you were out the cab fare as well.

In the morning the replacement flight the counter person at the check in desk looked as though we were asking the impossible three seats together as we had on the previous nights flight. We got them the luckily I guess as the flight was full. I am not sure that everyone on the night before's flight got a ticket on the morning flight. This flight left over an hour late due to a problem with this aircrafts fueling system. We were all relieved to here when we had passed Thunder bay on the way to Winnipeg.

This flight was no bargain it cost an extra 175 dollars due to the hotel room not to mention the loss of pay due to being one day later.

It should be noted that the westjet flight at about the same time the first night landed without incident in Winnipeg.
