The MIA-CCS route is sub contracted to a Miami based charter company and there is only one plane. If there is a delay in the morning, as in our case, the entire schedule falls apart domino style... Outbound fight was 5 1/2 hours late. Arrived at 4 am in a dangerous part of Caracas. Service was slow in Miami, 2 1/2 hours to get to the gate. Return trip was a nightmare like Planes Trains and Automobiles. Caracas airport is small and chaotic. AeroPostal's lines are 3 hours long and people are all crossing each other trying to enter and exit lines from 5 airlines. Morning flight was so oversold that it took 2 hours for them to sort out the departure time. Although 2 hours early, we were bumped to the 3:40 pm flight, which, of course was 6:05 pm because the one plane was late leaving that morning. They failed to mention that they knew it would be late and told us to be back at 2:40pm. So we waited in the airport for 3 hours just to be told the flight was now delayed to 7:30 pm. Inquiries as to the situation received blank stares and no consistent information. Staff stated that it was like this for 15 days straight. No one seemed to know what as going on. Flight finally left at 8:25pm. We enjoyed a luke warm in flight meal of greasy meat that I suspect was waiting for the plane at 3pm. Gate 22 was then changed to Gate 25 when they realized they had a flight to Lima and Miami waiting for a departure at the same gate, same time. Indifferent staff, poor service, horrible waiting areas with little in services, equipment that was late each time for mechanical problems. AeroPostal seems to have a bad reputation in Venezuela. All the locals roll their eyes and wish you luck. Staff in Miami, rude and arrogant. Based on our experience, this disorganized, under equipped airline should be avoided. I tried to make my point to AeroPostal, but their attitude is that I got there and back and should be happy. 15 hours in CCS is too much to bear. Never again. | ||
