Taken November 2004 from Dubai - DXB to Sydney, New South Wales (Kingsford Smith) - SYD

I was in the new business class in A340 500. What a pleasant change then from the other aircraft that operated on this root.

Entering business class you could immediately see changes. Firstly the seats were wider and better. In the middle row there were now only two seats rather then three. Secondly the PTV screens are the biggest in the skies. They're huge.

I sat at my window seat. The seats are extremely comfortable with lots of legroom. We were immediately served drinks and hot towels. The staff was as always polite and helpful. Our flight took off half an hour later then scheduled.

The ICE program system "Information Communication and Entertainment" was great. It has 500 channels including games. You can also order movies by demand. In the Information section you can find out everything about Emirates, Dubai international airport, your flight and you can even check out the latest in world news.

The service started shortly after take off. This was the dinner menu of Emirates Business class Sydney- Dubai that I can remember:

Appetizer

Grilled Vegetable and Mozzarella Cheese

Baby cos lettuce, grilled vegetables and mozzarella cheese, served with balsamic olive oil dressing.

Main Courses

Stir -Fried Rice - with chicken and fried vegetables

Smoked Salmon Quiche- served with red pepper caulis.

Spaghetti and Zucchini with.

Salad

Seasonal salad

Served with a choice of dressing.

Pastries

Petit Fours

Selection of chocolate hazelnut, orange layer or strawberry short cake.

Tea, Coffee, French cheese, Chocolates, Cakes.

After that I transformed my seat nearly into a bed. I slept for about 6 hours. When I woke up I watched a movie. I was served breakfast.

NEW FEATURES: They have come to so much perfection that they even in the morning put on the sound of birds which are soft sounded so don't worry it won't disturb you. While sleeping, at top of the cabin stars and blue lights turn on it really relaxes you. You can also turn on a massager.

The crew is splendid. As I said before they were helpful, hardworking and polite.

When the plane landed first and business class passengers are let out first.
