The people handling the line were not very competent and allowed a group of Italian teenagers to jump the queue. When I pointed this out to the two men responsible for the queue both of whom were in BA uniforms they were indifferent. The check-in agent was a helpful Asian man who was efficient and polite. The departure was prompt and the cabin crew were mostly British Asians. On a flight to Hungary not one member of the crew spoke Hungarian. Food was presented in a deli style box and consisted of a sandwich of ham and cheese. This was fine, but there were no alternatives. For the return home to Hungary I sat with the elderly mother of a friend. The old lady does not speak any English and I was not pleased with the lack of respect shown to her by the Asian cabin crew. Elderly passengers should be treated the same as other age groups. The cabin attendant simply plonked down the box containing the sandwich without any reference to the old lady at all. This is not how to treat people! A very nice Scottish cabin crew member came to our seat about 30 minutes after the Asian lady and the Scottish woman was very helpful and explained about the food being a deli box. The seats were vrey comfortable indeed and there was ample leg room for the duration of the flight. As was the case on the out bound flight the sense of security was very good. In my opinion, not that the European Union has expanded more needs to be done by BA to cater to the central and Eastern European passengers. With growing numbers of elderly people in the population it is vital to show appreciation to the needs of older passengers and to help staff through training. On this occassion the member of the cabin crew did not make a favourable impression. | ||
