Taken December 2004 from London, England (Gatwick Airport) - LGW to Goa - GOI

Our flight to India was straight though outbound and lasted 8 and a half hours. We were seated near the back of the plane and the leg room was horrendous. This was not helped by the inconsiderate people

seated in front who insisted on having their seat back as far as it would go. I know this is not the airlines fault, but I feel if seats are crammed in so tightly then the seats should not be made to extend onto the lap of the person who is seated behind. The flight was on time - ish. I found the staff to be very un-helpful and on one occasion a female member of the cabin crew was rude to me. During the 8 and a half hours we were provided with 1 meal and 1 snack (at an extra cost) But in this time we only had 2 drinks which I found to be unacceptable. The drinks were tea or coffee, neither of which I drink. So I politely asked a male member of staff for a cup of water which never arrived. So I then politely asked a female member of staff for the same and she was what can only be described as extremely rude and un-cooperative towards me. All of the staff we encountered, whether they were dealing with us or as we watched them with other passengers, all seemed like everything was just too much trouble. The flight back was even worse. Thankfully the cabin crew were different, but again, they weren't over helpful. On the way back we had a 4 and a half hour flight to Bahrain, during which we had ONE drink. Then after that we had another 7 and a half hours to land at Gatwick and during that time we had 2 drinks. Thankfully I learned from the outbound journey and remembered to take my own water onboard with me, otherwise we may have died from dehydration!!! I will never ever fly with this airline ever ever again. If I had to choose between staying in the UK forever or flying with them, I'd stay put.
