2000 Nissan Primera Sport 1.8 16v petrol
Summary:
Reliable and long lasting!
Faults:
Mostly wear and tear over the 20 years I had it. No major problems. If I am being picky - the drivers window failed, but it was a cheap easy repair. Blew bulbs often, but no big deal, auto electrician had a look but could not find anything wrong.
Never changed the clutch, but it was juddery in my last year of ownership.
Rust was becoming a problem, but it was 24 years old when I scrapped it!
General Comments:
A fantastically simple and reliable car from Nissan and I wish cars as good as this were still made!
1.8 was a punchy engine and did around 37 mpg. The car was fun to drive, sharp handling. Ride a little firm but not uncomfortably so.
Spacious modern interior for its time.
Boot was huge, never a problem getting stuff in.
Hard to say much more, it was just a great car, honestly would have kept it another few years, but at its age and mileage, it was difficult to justify putting it through another MOT, it was not worth much by then. But I sure got my monies worth out of this car! No way will anything more modern be as cost effective and long lasting as this car was!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Just a quick note on my review, it was the SE spec not Activ (it was quite a while ago I had this car!) The 2.0 engine was not available on Activ spec if I recall. Mind you, it doesn't really matter, both are good engines and very similar in performance and interior options, really the only Primeras to avoid are the basic 1.6 S models.
