"A long distant drivers dream"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing at all. All in perfect working order after 20 years!
General comments?
The 164 is the best car I have ever owned and is perfect for medium to long distant drives.
The engine sounds perfect at all speeds.
Driving at 100 to 110 km per hour shows off the capability of this machine, although it is a fast car it does not like slow speeds. It is made to go fast.
Value for money is 100%. No other car gives so much joy at the same price.
A car for serious drivers, and needs to be looked after often to make it last.
I have a friend of mine that travels as a rep and has reached just over 500,000 km and his 164 engine still runs perfect!
I had the lotus esprit in mind before my 164 but ended up with the 164 because of available space and comfort.
And comfort is the keyword for the 164.
