2002 Kia Sedona EX review from North America
"A very good, but noisy vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rear air conditioner makes a noise like a motorcycle is tailgating me, I've been told that this is a transfer valve?. This repair is under warranty and will be taken care of next week.
The paint has started to come off of the mirrors and the hood is fading.
The interior noise (db level) is more like that of a convertible sports car and the insulation from exterior noises is non-existent, when a semi truck is next to me on the highway, it's like the their motor is in my lap.
General comments?
My wife and I are mostly satisfied with this vehicle, she uses it for local errands and of course going to and from work. It's a very sturdy mini-van that I find much more enjoyable to drive than either of my other vans (a Ford Windstar and a Chevy Astro). More than enough power, and for a mini-van it handles very well. On our only long trip with the Sedona it consumed about 23 MPG combined highway and mountain road driving (my wife complains that it only gets about 17 mpg which seems about right for stop and go city driving). Since we bought it used for less than $13,000 and it was in new condition when we got it, I think it's been an excellent deal.
