1986 Chevrolet K1500 Short Bed 4X4 review from North America
"Awesome"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought this truck the guy told me the guy he'd bought the truck from had modified the carburetor so that it would get better gas mileage I didn't think much of it till come winter when I had a hard time setting the choke in the mornings. As I started to look at it it turned out he had tied the choke pull off wide open with a bread tie. So it took it off and found that the diaphram inside was dry rotted out and with a quick ride to Autozone and $30 I fixed it and its been running like a champ.
General comments?
Awesome truck. Plan on restoring it soon to original condition. Body in great shape with original paint and no rust it being a South Carolina truck. I've had lots of comments on the truck and have always been a Chevrolet man. I've know people to put 300 close to 400 thousand miles on the trucks before have the engine and transmission replaced. Very reliable pickups when taken care of and correct maintenance done and not put off.
