1998 Audi A4 1.8 T review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Cadillac converter blew completely, very expensive fix.
A cylinder broke, the car was not able to start and had to get a tow.
1 valve replacement and awaiting 2 more next week.
The comfort temperature gauge works wonders and is very specific. That gets to be pain though because it takes a long time to set or change the temp.
ABS module broke and warning lights will finally be reset tomorrow at the dealer.
Bumper guard is too low to the ground.
General comments?
When I first got the car, the turbo was not working. That did not bother me and never has since. The performance isn't extremely quick, but is fine.
Very fun to drive. Great feel on the road, even better on the highway. Good tires. Superior sound system. Comfort is above medium.
Overall, very fun car if have the means. I don't think I'd buy one again because of the time and money to keep it maintained, unless you want it to be one of your hobbies, like I have. This is my favorite Audi model and didn't want to let the chance get by. Ill look for a Toyota or Honda in 10 years when I'm done with the Audi.
