1995 Tatra T700 L review from Czech Republic
"Worth the time and money; not many left"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Anything metal is prone to rust, plastics are decent quality as is the leather interior. Exterior plastic (unlike the 613, the 700 has got lots of plastic trimming on the outside) are well attached, but not of the highest quality (warping).
The heater works well, A/C (non-factory italian manufacture) is 6 out of 10. but the interior size of T700 must be taken into consideration, as the car is simply huge on the inside.
It runs very well; the 3.5 aircooled V-8 is a beast and can be easily converted to LPG (a necessity with petrol prices)
General comments?
T700 is comfy, luxurious odd-ball, which will always draw attention.
Not many rear-mounted air-cooled V-8s out there, aside from a T613 and T603, only Porsche comes close with its rear mounted boxers.
This upgraded model from bygone communist era runs very well, and the 5-speed transmission is as smooth as silk (odd for a limousine, isn't it?).
