1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS review from North America
"Great"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I own a 92 RS white with red strips, weld wheels and low pro tires. It's powered by a 305 that I just pulled out today.
I will be doing a total new motor. Everything is going to be new, right down to the crank.
The problem was that I just bought this car at the Grand Rod Run in Sevier county, TN. I paid $3,000 for it, but it smoked. One of my rings is hanging up and dumping oil on top of the piston. Oh well, when I took the valve cover off, it was sludge. This is what happens when you put penzoil in it.
The motor only had 58,000 on it and the car looks great. I was going to put my 350 4 bolt main in it, but I want the numbers to match just in case I want to sell it years down the road. I guess the 350 will just lay in the corner of my garage until I find a home for it.
If anyone wants to buy a Camaro from any year, you want stock or strip, then you have to come to the big Grand Rod Run; it happens about 2 times a year, the next one is July. Thousands of muscle cars from all years.
General comments?
Handles great, and also is a real head turner; it must be the loud rumble it has.
This car is great for running through the Smoky Mountains, which are just a mile from my house.
