1982 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue Editon review from North America
"One of the best cars ever made"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to put in new spark plugs/wires when first bought.
The trunk is starting to leak when it rains.
The rear sags some (may need new leaf springs)
The cloth A, B, and C pillers are torn and sagging (a very common problem with these cars)
Engine leaks oil (needs new valve cover gaskets)
General comments?
The Good:
Couch-like seats with super high-grade leather not found in monern cars.
Was garage kept its entire life.
Almost fully loaded.
Good on gas for a V-8.
No rust anywhere.
Is metal instead of plastic.
Stylish and easy to read gauges.
Is very maneuverable.
Has one of the best engine and transmission ever made.
The Bad:
No sunroof.
The fuel tank is too small.
The vinyl top seriously compromises rear vision.
The driver's seat can be adjusted 6 ways, but can't recline.
