2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS review from North America
"Even though me and the car aren't in love yet, there is definitely some sexual tension in the air.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not a Damn thing, except the fact that somebody hit it in the side the fourth day that I've owned it. One of my rims was scuffed on the surface as well, but I probably would not be suprised if it were due to my own negligence.
General comments?
To the previous guy who wrote a review on the 2006, I think you are a little bit out of line mentioning that this car is not good for having a child in the rear seat. It's a sports coupe, duhh.
This car will never be as sexy on the exterior as a Mitsubishi 3000GT (which were discontinued in 2000), but this girl (the car) has it's own style and a body that has pleasantly matured over the years.
Red is the color I selected for her to wear, and she does so very elgantly whether it's a daily commute for work, or a late night cruise through the Red Light District here in the Nation's Capital.
I have the GS version, so that means no sunroof, no 650 watt RockFord Fostgate system, no digital compass, no V6 Engine, etc. Even though there are no fancy features on mine, she still came equipped with a slap-stick 4- gear automatic transmission, and a MP3 Player. Many people who are not very tech-savvy may say: "who cares about a
MP3 player". The difference is, that over 150 songs can be stored on one-disc which enhances the music listening experience greatly, especially on long travel.
Before I took her home, I went looking at many other cars in higher classes, such as the Lexus SC430, the Mercedes SL500, and the Chevrelet Corvette (all pre-owned of course), but in the end, there was no comparison.
I don't want to ramble on and on about the car, I mean after all it's only an Eclipse right? But honestly, this car is defintely the nighest one that I've ever owned, and I am looking to to make this relationship meaningful and long lasting.
Back in 2001 I bought a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL with 100,000 miles on it. It was faster, sexier, sportier, and definitely turned more heads than my Eclipse. Sometime people even mistook it for a Ferrari (the 3000GT) if they were looking at it from the side. However, the maintenance was an absolute night-mare, especially if you were a street racer like me. The engine blew up (the rods bent) and the car was put to sleep. (R.I.P baby)
My Eclipse will never be mistaken for Ferrari in a million years. But it is practically still new with a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty, gets aout 25 miles a gallon, has sexy ice blue illuminated interior, and is sexy enough... even though I've had sexier. She's like the girl who just turned 18 and is still innocent for the time being, but may not be anymore after the night is over.
Thanks so much for reading, and if you decide to get one... go for the red, orange or black - these colors fit the body perfectly.
-Peace.
